RUNAWAY TRUCKS AND VAN COME TO GRIEF ON THE SPIRAL.—Owing to the buffer on a. ballast train breaking cn the Raurimu Spiral yesterday, fourteen trucks and a van were piled up in a cutting after careering down the Spiral for 2£ miles. Mr. J. Lyons, the guard, jumped to safety and escaped injury.
