Mr. John Fuller, of Sydney, is in Auckland at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. G. J. Hollis, 8.C0m., has been appointed internal auditor to the Wellington City Corporation. ■
Mr. T. Te Tomo, M.P. for Western Maori, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. He was accompanied by Mre. Te Tomo.
Mr. Harold Moreland, of Newstead, Hamilton, ihas been appointed judge of the Jersey exhibits at the Melbourne Royal Show, to be held next month.
Mr. M. R. O'Shea, registrar of the Auckland University College, sails for America on the Monterey on August 30. Under a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, he is to study university methods in the United States.
His Grace Archbishop Redwood, senior prelate of the Roman Catholic Church in New Zealand, and the Rev. Father P. J. Smyth, parieh priest at Thorndon, who attended the Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, will return to Wellington by the Rangitata to-morrow.
Messrs. E. A. Batt, E. Palliser, H. W. Shortt, and the secretary, Mr. W. A. Sutherland, will represent the Wellington Automobile Association at the annual meeting of the North Island Motor Union, to be held at Palmereton North next month.
Mr. A. S. Sutherland, who was recently elected to represent the combined, districts of Waikato, Waipa and Raglan on the Auckland Harbour Board, attended hie first meeting of the board yesterday afternoon. He was formally welcomed by the chairman, Mr. G. R. Hutchinson.
