TARANAKI OIL FIELDS.
AUSTRALASIAN COMPANY'S . INTEREST. As a wrong impression may have been created by the heading "American Company's Plans," which accompanied a telegraphed message from Wellington yesterday with reference to the development of Taranaki oil fields, the "Star" is now informed that it is the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited (of Australasia), and not the American organisation, ■that is interested. It is not generally known that the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited (of Australasia), has a registered office in Melbourne, from where the board of directors control the policy of the company in the interests of many thousands of New Zealand and Australian shareholders.
