RUGBY, December 30.

Sir Herbert Samuel, Home Secretary, who has been spending part of the Parliamentary recess at Torquay, set out by motor car to visit Dartmoor prison at Princetown to-day, but the machine skidded on the icebound moorland road and ran into a ditch.

Sir Herbert and his chauffeur were uninjured, but tho car was damaged. The Home Secretary then proceeded on vfOOt.
