WHEAT PRICES ADVANCE.
CANADA TO BENEFIT. WINNIPEG. November 1. Grain brokers are predicting that wheat will rise to a dollar a bushel by Christmas. Leading United States dealers are hastily opening offices. They say a world shortage is looming, with North America holding commnrd through the slunio in Kussian shipments and shortages in Europe. The Department oi Trade at Ottawa confirms the remarkable falling off in Russian shipments. The Minister or Trade and Commerce, Mr. H. H. Stevens, states, that shipments in the week ended October 29 were 2,000,000 bushels, compared with 4.000,000 bushels in the previous week and 3,500.000 bushels a year ago. • May wheat at Winnipeg closed at /0 rents; a rise cf 1* cents. It is estimated 'hat £10 000.000 was added to Canadian Ei-ain values in the last five weeks.
