WHANGAREI, this day,

Christopher George Ryan faced two charges iu the Whangarei Police Court this "morning, one of being found drunk in Cameron Street, and the other, of usinc obscene language in a public place. He pleaded guilty to drunkenness, but said he did not know what he said at the * Senior-Sergeant Powell stated that accused had a wife and six children and a heavv. penalty would cause them to suffer. "Accused had agreed to take out a prohibition order. The presiding J.P.'s, Messrs. W. Reynolds and F. A. Farmer, directed that a prohibition order be issued, whole on the obscene language charge Ryan was convicted and discharged.
