CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. Excellent shooting conditions prevailed on Saturday afternoon, when "the fortnightly shoot of the Auckland Gun Club was held at Pakuran'ga. Eighteen took part in the various matches. A ten-bird match was divided by 1. F. Ramsey (17yds), .T. Milne (Kiyds). D. ,S. Ewing (15yds), W. .T. Turner (15yds) and W. H. Hazard (14yds), with the poss-rnle. The chief match for two handsome trophies, presented by Mr. E. P. Mitchelson, resulted in n tie between L. F. Ramsey (24yds), D. S. Ewing (20yds), A. E. Macredie (2Cyds), E. J. Schoh'eld (23yds) and A. B. Brown (23yds), with the possible, They divided the prize money and shot off for the trophies. Brown missed his eighth bird, Macredip the tenth, Schoh'eld the eleventh. Kwing, missed (he sixteenth and Ramsey also missed, necessitating a further shoot off between these two shooters. Ewing missed the nineteenth bird, Ramsey getting his and taking the first prize trophy. . The final match of ten birds was divided by J. Milne (17yds). \V. .T. Turner (IGyds) and W. H. A RECORD AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, this day. The Otago clay bird championship, held on Saturday, was won by S. B. Leask, of Lander. In the "Skect" Sweepstake T. Callaghan established a Dominion record, breaking 14 consecutive birds.
