WAR DEBT POSTPONEMENT.

ETFECT IN NEW ZEALAND. BEARING ON YEAR'S TAXATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) > WELLINGTON, Wednesday. 7 In reply, to a question to-day, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. Forbes, said it was impossible to indicate whether Mr. Hoover's war debt postponement scheme would have any bearing on this year's taxation proposals of the New Zealand Government, as the suggestion was in tentative form. New Zealand had already paid to the British Government the half-yearly instalment for the current year. The whole matter was the subject of correspondence between the Government and the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London.
