POSITION" OF PENSIONERS.' „ (By- Telegraph.—Press Association.)WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Criticism of the Unemployment Board's attitude in reference to returned soldiers was made at the annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association yesterday. . Mr. W. G. Lloyd (Christchurcli) said if had been laid down that single men in receipt of a war pension of. £1 a week were not entitled to receive employment under a relief scheme. ;The position was that those. men could not p get two days' work a week, yet they had to pay a levy of 7/6 a quarter. The only person exempt from the levy was a pensioner permanently disabled and in receipt'of'a full pension. A pensioner could make" application for relief from payment, but it' was doubtful if it would bo granted. If it were, the applicant Would not be' entitled to any work at all/ ./ K ■ ■
