In the third round of the singles in the Wimbledon tennis tourney, Malfroy (New Zealand) beat Kotapman (Hungary), B—6,8 —6, 6—3, 6 —2; Lee (England) beat Lott (United States), 7 —5, 7 —5, 7—5; Austin (England) beat Brugnon (France), 6 —3, 6 —4, 6—o. Other results are:—Borotra (France) beat Miki; Boussus (France) beat Kawaclii (Japan); Wood (U.S.A.) beat Maier (Germany); Sharpe (England) beat Wheatley; Perry (England) beat Gentien (France). In the second round of the women's singles Mies Round beat Senorita d'Alvarez (Spain), G—s, 6—5. AMATEUR BILLIARDISTS. EMPIRE TITLE TOURNEY. (Received 9 a.m.) • SYDNEY, this day. In the second game of the Empire billiards tournament, the English champion, Lee, defeated the South Australian champion, Goldsmith, the scores being:—Sidney Lee, 2000, with breaks of 165, 138, 116, 106, 104; H. Goldsmith, 1361, with breaks of 86, 76, 68 and 65.
NEUTRALITY TREATY. SOVIET AND GERMANY. (Received 1 p.m.) MOSCOW, June 24. The treaty of neutrality between Germany and the Soviet Las been signed. It replaces the live years treaty expiring jon June 28. The treaty pledges both parties to . observe neutrality in the case of attack by a third Power, and each promises not to join hostile coalitions, or economic or financial boycotts against the other, either in peace time or war time.
