The weather was showery for training at Takanini this morning. The middi" grass was open and it was in pood order Envoy (Leach) and Principal (Ravi went six furlongs in 1.22. Sinpleton (Grice) van ten furlongs, bein ,l picked up at the mile post by Trustee i.Mcllroy).' The la-t mile took 1.30. They ran tlis first in 12 l-.55. but were eased up to complete two in 2os. Gatchem (Kernel and Taurua iStewar-j were together at the end of six furlong in 1.20. Both were doing their best over the concluding stages. Captain Dollar J Gil more) established an early break on Vandyke (Gray), but tli? latter ran away from him at the eiv.l oi rive furlongs in 1.4 4-5. Afterwards Gray put Vandyke over a couple or" sinail hurdles and he shaped well for j beginner. Coolmint (Walters) assisted (Gray) over the first half-mile o: six vivlongs. The first four furlongs were :.;;. in 51s, and the six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Fair Abbey (Mellroy) pleased bett;;than Mashoor (Aker.-teini over ioji hurdles.
