NEW COLONIAL POST.
British High Commissioner in Australia. TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 21. The Dominions Office announces that, as was recently stated in the House of Commons, the Government has decided to appoint a High Commissioner in Australia, with functions comparable to those of the High Commissioners in Canada and in South Africa. Pending the ■selection of the High Commissioner, Mr. E. T. Crutchley, at present the United Kingdom migration representative iu Australia, has been appointed representative in Australia of His Majesty's Government. He will take up his new duties at Canberra forthwith.
