LIVE STOCK MARKETS.
MATAMATA. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., held their weekly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. Yardings of beef and dairy cattle were below the average. Pig and sheep prices were maintained. Prices were:— Beet.—Good fresh conditioned cows, £3 17/6; others, smaller, £2 to £2 2/; store cows. £2 3/; boners, £1 to £1 10/; Jersey heifer calves, up to £1 16/. A iine of 50 Polled-Angus steers from Opotiki, fresh conditioned, made £4 12/6 and £5 2/6; bulls, £2 to £3 10/. Pigs.—Light baconers, up to £2 15/; medium porkers, 37/; light porkers, £1 6/ to £1 10/; stores, small, 13/ to 19/; weaners, 12/ to 13/; smaller. 7J to 9/. Sheep.—Fat wethers, up to 14/6.
