DOG TRIALS.
MEETING AT PIOPIO. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, Thursday. Following are the results of the annual dog trials, held at Pionio on Tuesday, and concluded to-day, under the auspices of the King Country Central Collie Club: — Long Head (also group championship long head). —R. King's Speed, AGVs points, 1; F. King's Lochinvar, 46, 2; J. Edwin's Jed, 45, 3. , Short Head.—F. King's Lochinvar, 56V2 points, 1; F. King's Roy, 52%, 2; C. Taylor's Glen, 52, 3. Short Head, Hold and Huntaway.—Miss Long's Sandy, 45 points, 1; R. Hollis' Tipperary, 42, 2; F. King's Don, 41%, 3. Huntaway.—R. Staples' Floss, 43% points, 1; 11. Hollis' Tipperary, 39, 2; F. King's Don, 38, 3. Head, Bring Back, Hold in Ring.—P. McNaughton's (Moitinsville) Kelp, 41, 1; A. .T. Sutherland's (Te Kuiti) Fly, 40, 2; P. McNaughton's Willie, 38, 3; D. McLean's (Te Kuiti) Jed, 30, and R. Hollis' (Piopio) Loch Lomond, 3(3, dead-heat, 4. Twenty-three dogs competed. The judge was Mr. R. Stewart, of Piopio. In the evening tlie annual dinner was held, which was well attended by sportsmen from all parts.
