SOCCER FOR SATURDAY.

MEETING OF LEADING TEAMS. TO-MORROW'S PROGRAMME. BIG GAMES AT BLANDFORD. The four topmost teams in the Soccer championship competition will be on view at Blandford Park to-morrow afternoon in two games, which, on recent form, promise to be the hardest and most exciting of the first round series. In the first match, Tramurewa and Y.11.C.A. are the contestants. B';th have four point* for three matches, each having been but once beaten, and the result" of the game may play _an important part in the championship; One outstanding feature of the senior grade so far has been the uncertainty of the results and the number of instances iu which the verdict has gone against popular expectation. With Tramurewa and Y.M., the strongest ground for anticipating a stirring contest, apart from the position of each team- in the race for championship honours, is the striking contrast in the stvle of the competitors. Y.M. have always played a fast, dashing and upsetting game, while Tramurewa are exponents of the studied, methodical pl.iy that very often pays in the long run. leaving the final test often _ one of physique. In this respect Y.M.- have an advantage, but the cohesive effort of their opponents has a strong claim for support and will be hard to shake off. Anything may happen. Meetings of Ponsonby and Thistle have been productive in seasons gone by of fast, clever and open football and with the good ground conditions of the Park at the present time there is every reason to anticipate a really high class exhibition of the code. Ponsonby have a habit of upsetting calculations, which haves the result of the principal game t,-morrow a very open question. North Shore will again be at home on Devonport Domain to-morrow to New Lynn, and after their fine showing against Ponsonby last Saturday Shore would do well to treat their opponents with the utmost respect. Celtic and Onehunga will meet at Wiikaraka Park, where a good game should result. Teams are as follows: —
