LEAGUE FOOTBALL
TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS. MARIST-CITY MAIN GAME. FAST PLAY PROMISED. The Auckland Rugby League competitions will be advanced a further stage to-morrow, when interesting games will be played in all grades. The Marist combination, which has not yet suffered a reverse, is to meet City in the principal attraction of the day at Carlaw Park. While the latter have not revealed their best form to date, they should make a good fight of it and spectators should be provided with a fast and open exhibition of the code. On No. 2 ground Richmond will be matched against Ellerslie and anything might happen. The racecourse men showed last Saturday that they are capable of springing a surprise and they should keep the fast-raiding Richmond side busy from bell to bell. Out at Western Springs, Newton will try conclusions with Ponsonby and, judging on form, the latter should emerge comfortable winners. The reserve teams of each club will play curtain-raisers on the same grounds. Teams are as follow:— CITY ROVERS.
