TRAFFIC BRIDGE SUGGESTED.

DILWORTH AVENUE CROSSING. It was suggested by the city engineer in a report to the first meeting of the new City Council last evening that the erection of a road traffic bridge over the railway at Dilworth Avenue should be considered: The suggestion followed a letter to the council from the district engineer of railways. An inspection of the footbridge was made and it was found that it needed replacing. Alternative schemes were submitted by the city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, his proposals providing either for a footbridge or a traffic bridge, the former to cost' £400 and the latter £5230.
