DENTAL CLINIC CHARGES.
"The position is that it is not an extra charge on any committee, but it is a matter of getting an extra amount from parents," said Mr. F. A. Snell at this morning's meeitng of the Auckland Education Board, when the Hamilton West School committee wrote forwarding a resolution strongly objecting to any extra liability in connection with dental clinics being forced on school committees. With the cutting out of subsidies on moneys collected, and in view lof the small capitation allowed by the Education Board, the committee regarded the proposal as an unfair imposition on committees.
The chairman, Mr. A. Burns, said the board had no control over clinics, nor had the school committees. They were administered by special committees. Of course, any increase in charges would come hard on parents. Mr. Snell: Goodness knows, the service is cheap enough. The protest was received.
