SAMOA'S WELCOME. ftew Administrator Receives Cordial Greeting. GAY SCENES AT APIA. (E'.y Radio— Special to Press Association.) (Received 12 noon.) APIA, May 1. At nine o'clock this morning, being favoured with ideal weather conditions, the new Administrator, Mr. H. E. Hart, who was appointed in February to succeed Mr. S. S. Allen, landed on the flag-bedecked wharf ko a salute of 15 guns. He was oflicially welcomed by the deputy-Administrator, Mr. A. G. Turnbull, and present on the wharf were Chief Judge Luxford, the Secretary of Native Affairs, Mr. Mcßride, and other official, including th-*. elected member, Mr. F. W. Meredith, two native members, Jlalietoa and Mata'afa, and the full body of Faipulee. An armed guard of honour from the constabulary and a band under Inspector A. L. Braisby, were also in attendance. The Administrator proceeded to failima, and on the way passed through two lines of children from the Ifi. Ifi and Malifa schools. Each child waved a email Union Jack. The street, was decked -with, streamers, flags, and greenery. An arch of welcome bearing the words, "Afio Mai" (a chiefly welcome) presented a charming picture. The- whole proceedings were" conducted without a hitch. This afternoon the new Administrator will attend a Samoan function of welcome at Mulinuu.
