OPERATIONS AT WAIHI. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WAIHI.. Friday. The following information has been cabled to London :— No. 6 level. No. 2 reef, driving east. — The next 21ft assays 37/ per ton. The width of the lode is about sft. Now hoied through to former workings. No. 9 level. Martha lode. east, in Junction area.—The next 21ft assays 5'9 per ton. No. 11 level. State reef, in Junction area. — ±he next 44ft assays ?■.•/' per ton. The lode is about sft wide* WAIOMO SULPHIDE. Zeehan Section. —No. 1 level : A branch outcrop of the main reef has been located near this level, its width being two feet. worth £3 17/ per ton. It is proposed to rise 90ft from No. i level on the renin reef at a point where payable ore is showing: to make this outcrop accessible. A biock of good milling ore will then bt ( available for economical working. It ;s j intended to resume milling shortly on ore from biocks at Nos. 1 and - levels from ( the intermediate level on Zeehan reef and ' from the winzes on the new reef i:.d Zeehan reef below No. :; level, where good ore is exposed at all point.-. Development on a reef seven feet wide, discovered on the surface about 1300 ft westward of the main crosscut, will bo- undertaken. E ree gold is showing in this ree: at various points. and a survey discloses that 200 ft of driving will ensure a similar height overhead, which, with driving, will increase to 530 J feor. This is a promising development. j In the Monowai section work has been ' restricted to driving at No. - level to ,' locate' a continuation of a rich leader -■bowing westward of the stopes at No level. ~ \ \ MINERAL INDUSTRY.
