EDEN PARK INNOVATION. TIMING CLOCK INSTALLED. The Auckland Rugby Union will have ; an electric timing clock in use on the No. 1 ground at Eden Park throughout the season. It is a gift from the Omega; Company, and is similar to those used i in Otago and Wellington. It is similar' to an ordinary clock, but differs in the face markings in that the figures from 12 to 9 are shoAvn only, thus providing for the registering of 45-minute spells. The individual controlling the clock stops and starts it Avhen ,a player is injured, as guided by the referee's Avhistle. Spectators can tell at a glance the exact time a spell has been in progress. A small function was held at Eden Park to-day to celebrate the occasion. WAIKATO SUB-DIVISIONS. DECISION OF HAMILTON UNION. A special meeting of the Hamilton Rugby Union was held on Thursday night to consider the proposed scheme for the reorganisation of football in the Waikato and the suggested amendment of rules governing the Finlay Cup competition. Mr. A. S. Cliffe presided. The proposal provides for the sub-divi-sion of the Waikato into two sections, the east section to include Morrinsville, Matkmata, Putaruru and Cambridge; and the Avest section Hamilton, Taupiri, Kaglan and Walpa. Each sub-union would play home and away matches the final between the two sections to De decided on a ground chosen by the Waikato Rugby Union. • It.Avas finally decided to enter one team in the proposed competition, provided the Hamilton Union Avas allowed to make the necessary arrangements to complete the .Sage Cup Memorial competition, and the union Avas permitted to meet challengers for the Peace Cup during the progress of the Finlay Cup competition. TAUPIRI CLUB'S MEETING. (From Our "Own Correspondent.) TAUPlßl,Thursday. The annual meeting of the above club was held this-week, when there was a good attendance presided over by the retiring president, Mr. L. Powell. The statement of receipts and expenditure shoAved a credit over last season's working of £ 13. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, Mr. F. Durbridge; president, Mr. F. West; vicepresidents, Messrs. C. M. Gleeson, E. Whitehorn; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Button; selectors, Messrs. C. M. Gleeson and Hall; management committee, besides the president and secretary, Messrs. L. Powell, A. Murphy and E. P. Tapper; club captain, Mr. R. Miller; delegate to Taupiri Rugby Union, Mr. L. Powell.
