* • . Mr. H. Waddington, of London, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. J. Young, MP., was a passenger from Wellington to Frankton by the Limited this morning. Mr. E. W. Kane, Clerk of Parliaments, has been confined to his home on account of illness. The Hon. Downie Stewart, MP., arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning, and went on by train to Rotorua. Mr. Wyvern Wilson. SAL, arrived from Hamilton yesterday and is at Hotel Cargen. Mr. W. Massey has been nominated by the Auckland" A. and P. Association for a seat on the executive of the New Zealand Royal Show Association. Dr. L. Cockayne, of Wellington, and Dr. E. Marsden, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, have been nominated by the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, as members of the board of governors of the New Zealand Institute. Mr. J. X. Massey, MP., arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. He has been appointed to represent the Auckland A. and P. Association at the meeting ot" the New Zealand Royal Show Association, to be held in Wellington on June -4. Mr. A. M. Samuel. M.P. for Thames, will leave London on Mav 13 on his return to New Zealand after a health visit to the United Kingdom. He will arrive at Auckland by the Niagara on June 13. Mr. C. R. Fori, of Auckland, who was a member of Captain Scott's Antarctic expedition in 1901, lias left for Wellington to pay a visit to the research ship Discovery, which Scott used on the expedition. Mr. A. W. Essex, chief passenger agent in New Zealand for the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, left for Wellington last evening to bid farewell to Mr. R. W Brodie, overseas manager of the comMr. Brodie, who has been visiting New Zealand in the course of a world tour, will leave by the Monowai on Tuesday for Australia.
