PERSONAL.
Mr. M. H. Wynyard left for Cliristchurch last evening. Mr. J. Noble, of London, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Taite Te Tonio. M.P. for Western Maori, was a .passenger from Wellington to le Hulti by the Limited this morning. Mr. T. B. Strong, Director of Education, and Mr. R.-G. Ridling, agricultural inspector ot technical schools, are staying at the Hotel Stoneliurst. Captain H. R. Hughes, formerly of the cable steamer Iris, will leave for Wellington this evening, and sail by, the Rangitata for England on Saturday. Mr. R. G. May, postmaster at Pukekohc, has been appointed chief postmaster at Westport. He expects to take over his new position within a month.
Mr. H. E. Sniytheman was admitted a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Herdman yesterday, on the motion of Mr. E. J. Prendergast.
At a meeting of the Auckland Rugby League last evening reference was made to the death of Mr. J. D. Wingham, a prominent official of the game at Greymouth. A motion of condolence was passed.
Wing-Commander K. li. Park, M.C., D.F.C., Croix de Guerre, youngest son of Professor J. Park, of Ota go University, and a brother of Mr. F. L. Park, Public Works engineer, oi Kotorua, has been appointed to the command of the Northolf air station in England. WingCommander Park, who liad a notabTe war record, is one of tiie senior staff officers concerned with air defences in the South of England, and has been in command of Uxbridge aerodrome. He organised the Royal Air Force pageant at Hendon in 1929 and 1930.
