WHITING—McCLATCHIE.

The wedding of Miss Jean McClatchie, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. McClatchie, of Belfast, Ireland, to Mr. Clarence Albert Whiting, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Whiting, of Ashburton, was celebrated at St. James' Presbyterian Church, yesterday after!no'on. The Rev. Mr. Harris officiated. The bride was given away by Mr. Stanley Smith, and wore a frock of ivory georgette, ankle-length, and inset with silk Mechlin lace. A tulle embroidered veil formed the train, and was held in place by silver. bands and orange 'blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet,with clumps of heather from Scotland. Misses Prudence Caldwall and Esma Whiting were the attending maids. Frocks of hyacinth blue crepe de chine had flowers appliqued on the bodices. Silver and tulle headdresses were accompanied with pink and blue shower bouquets. The flower girl, Dorothy Everson, wore praline pink crepe de soie, with silver rosettes, a silver and tulle headdress, and she carried a basket of pink roses. Messrs. Ernest and Arthur Everson were the best man and groomsman respectively. A wedding tea was served at the residence of Mrs. Everson, "Ivanlioe," Herne Bay, the hostess wearing a bois de rose crepe marocain, and hat to tone.
