THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT.

Dear Boys and Girls, — Very heavy entries were received for the ever popular "objects in the picture" competition and, as usual, the average competitor allowed imagination to run riot and "found" many objects not drawn by the artist. Altogether there were 56 objects and the winning list, sent in by Raymond Bishop, contained 56 allowable objects. The runner-up, Edythe Cox, had 54 objects, and the other prize winners were not far behind. Reading is ever a popular pastime with holiday makers so the competition this week concerns books. Ten good books are offered as prizes to those who send in the most interesting account of some book read during their holiday period. Accounts should be short and are limited to 500 words. Readers are reminded that although a full week is allowed for the preparation of competitions, work may be f JJ f* posted earlier. In fact competitors will £ materially assist the judges if they will SjJ* mail their work early.
