TRAGEDY IN POVERTY BAY. HUSBAND ATTEMPTS RESCUE, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIROA (H. 8.), Monday. A distressing double drowning fatality occurred this afternoon in the Waiau River at Frasertown, resulting ill a young married couple, Mr. Carl Ertle and Mrs. Ertle, each aged about 25 years, losing their lives. Mrs. Ertle Avas unable to swim, and got into difficulties. Her husband, although also unable to swim, jumped in, fully clothed to her rescue. He, however, disappeared. Both bodies were recovered later.
