FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. WEEK OPENS QUIETLY. The new week opened very quietly on the Auckland Stock Exchange. Bidding was half-hearted, and no sales were recorcled. In banking shares buyers of Commercials advanced their offers to 14/6, but otherwise there were no alterations, compared with week-end quotations. In insurances Nationals were asked for at 13/, and for New Zealands £2 0/9 was offered. A parcel of Taupiri Coal shares failed to find a buyer at £1 1/. Waihis were still in demand, with buyers at 15/ for the parent company's scrip and 2/ for Grand Junctions. Holders, however, raised their reserves to 16/ and 2/6 respectively. At Noon Call. Sales were reported at the noon call in Commercial Bank of Australia shares at 14/7V2 and 14/7. Buyers still offered 14/0, but sellers asked threepence more. Buyers again came in for New South Wales Bank shares at £26, an advance of 10/ on the offer at the opeuing call. Sellers remained at £2S. New Zealand Insurance shares firmed at the noon tall, sales being reported at £2 1/6, which price was paid for more in the room, and buyers were left offering £2 V. Auckland Gas eased 2d for ordinary and Id for contributing issue in the selling rates, but buyers remained unaltered. New Zealand Breweries were offered at £1 16/, a drop of 6d, which brought in a buyer at £ 1 14/6. The selling rate of Motnroa Oil shares also dropped from 5/ to 4/, but no seller quoted. The 1933 loan of 5% per cent was inquired for at £99 10/, an advance of 2/6, but business did not result. INTEREST RATES.
