CHINESE COFFIN

Found by Yacht Floating Off Sydney Heads. WHAT LOOKED LIKE A MUMMY. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY this day. . While entering Sydney Heads a yacht bumped into a partly-submerged object and a boat from the yacht got alongside what proved to be a coffin. The bump had knocked the lid off, disclosing a lot of water-soaked material and what looked like a mummy. Before the coffin could be secured it turned over and the contents disappeared.

The coffin, which was a Chinese one, was taken in tow. How it came to be ia the water i≤ baffling.
