A WARNING.
DOMINION COUNCIL'S ACTION.
OFFICIAL STAMP NECESSARY. " Bowlers who intend competing at the New Zealand championships, which commence at Auckland on Monday next, will do well to see that their bowls are officially stamped. Mr. G. L. Gladding, secretary of the Dominion Bowling Council, and of the Auckland Centre, has issued the following notice to all the bowling clubs in the centre: —"The official bowls tester of the Auckland Centre having intimated that some bowls, after being stamped with the official stamp, have been interfered with, the executive desires to draw the attention of all bowlers to rule 32 of the constitution and the rules of the association, which provide for the disqualification of any player who may be found guilty of wilfully altering a bowl after it has been stamped by the official bowl tester of the centre." During . the Wellington Centre's Christmas tournament a well-known skip had a bowl disqualified on the protest of a member of the executive. Ample warning had been given to all clubs and when the bowl was tested by the official tester it was found not to comply with the rules and the player was disqualified, the game being awarded to his opponent. The warning is no doubt given in view of the New Zealand tournament.
