JUMP FROM FERRY BOAT.
MAN STRIKES WHARF.
RECEIVES HEAD INJURIES.. Head injuries were suffered by Mr. f.'eoroe Henry Boyee, aged 30, of JJ, Teuton Street, off Eden Terrace, when lie jumped from the top deck of the 4.50' p.m. ferry boat on to the Bayswater wharf, as the steamer was berthing at the wharf yesterday. Mr. Boyce, who was on his way to n holiday'camp at Brown's Bay, jumped from the side of the ferry boat on to a pile, of the wharf, but missed his step, and fell 18ft on to a stringer, where he lay witfi his head under water in an unconscious condition. Mr. G. Patterson, mate of the ferry steamer, went to his resistance and prevented him from being crushed between the wharf and the vessel. Mr. Boyce received medical attention and was later removed to the Auckland Hospital. His condition is satisfactory.
