BENZINE PIPE BURSTS.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, Tuesday. A sudden explosion blew the cover off Mr. S. F. Anderson's launch, when Mr. Anderson and his son Eric were travelling from Rosy Bay to Lake House, on Lake Waikaremoana. The cover caught fire and it was found that a benzine pipe had burst. Mr. Anderson spent an. hour and a half in mastering the fire, and he managed to, reach a spot nearer Lake House known as "Te Kooti's - Chair." At Lake House he secured much-needed assistance. • Mr. Anderson suffered severe burns on one arm and a general singeing of the face. The lad escaped with slight burns.
