LOIs DUX, January 5. Tom Newman is playing Joe Davis in the eliminating round of the replay of the Empire billiards tournament at Thurston's Hall. Each player receives 7000, and the winner meets Lindrum. The replay is occasioned by the triple tie of Newman, Davis and Lindrum in the previous match. Newman has scored 9393 with breaks of 452, 554, 055 and 005, against Davis' figure of SI 10, including 479 and 433. In a. friendly match at Hull between McConachy and Lindrum, McConachy (receives 7000) has made 8023, including breaks of 259 and 300, ■to Lindruni's 1832, with breaks of 590. 577 and 203. At snooker McConachy has scored 123 and Lindrum 99.
