HAMILTON, this day. - Found beneath a woman's bed afc a residence in Whatawhata Road, Frankton. on Saturday night, a young man, William Clarence Mitchell (24), waa ,today charged /before Mr. W. Seavill and Mr. B. C. Lowry, J.P.'s, with, being on premises without lawful * excuse, and also with a Sreach of his probation. Senior Sergeant Sweeney said the. accused had been living with a woman who was divorced, on his account, at Rotorua. He had pestered her to marry him, and, when she had refused, he took poison. For attempting his life he was placed on probation at Rotorua for six months. The woman had since gone to live with her parents at Frankton, where the accused had been making himself a nuisance. The woman had refused to have anything to do with him, ancU-her parents had repeatedly warned "him to keep away Srom the house. He had x aJso been warned by the police. On Saturday night he got into the house, and, at 10.30 p.m., was found beneath the woman's bed. The accused had nothing to eay other than that he had done everything he could for the woman, who was being kept away from him by her parents. Mitchell was sentenced to one month's imprisonment on the first, charge, and, for breaking the terms of his release on probation, was convicted and discharged-
