1 AUCKLAND CLUB. | The first round of the Auckland Golf Club's senior and intermediate championships was played at Middlemore on Saturday. Conditions were good and the greens were in fine order. The first round of the club championship resulted as follows: —R. O. Gardner beat W. 6. Ralph, 2 and 1; H. Plumley beat J. P. Aldred, 7 and 0; L. W. Delph beat H. Tidmarsh, 3 and 1; A. W. Olilson. who defeated G. A. Smith, a former champion. in the final. 2 tip. Ohlson was 4 down at the end of the first IS holes, but played better jrolf on the second round. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. A four-ball bogey handicap played by members of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at the Titirangi links on Saturday resulted in a win for It. L. Wilson (8) and A. E. Joplin (7), who returned a card of S up. Other good cards were : W. West (10) and J. C. Jones (13), R. A. Spinley (13) and W. P. Baker (11), 7 up/ T. E. Clark (8) and F. S. Ballin (11). H. A. Broadbent (8) and J. W. Jones (15), A. Fairburn (11) and L. Knight (11), 4 up; M. Nelson (7) and T. A. Ballin (15), 3 up. The semi-final of the championship between R. M. George and H. D. Brinsden was also played, and resulted in a win for the former by 1 up. , A medal handicap will be played for the captain's prize at Titirangi next Saturday. Partners will be drawn. The semi-final of the Maungakiekie Golf Club's junior championship was played at the One -Tree Hill links on Saturday, when J. H. Goyder beat C. Russell-Jones, 2 and 1. Goyder will now meet S. T. Wanganui College won in the singles by 7 games to 3, and in the four-ball matches each team won two games, two being halved.
