EXPORT FRUIT COMPETITION.

GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S CUP,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. A. J. Murdoch, lias been advised by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, that if it would be in any way helpful in encouraging competition in the grading, packing and preserving of highgrade fruit for the British markets, hia Excellency would be very pleased to present a silver clialenge cup, to be competed for in 1931 and" successive years at the Imperial Fruit Show, in such a competition and subject to such conditions as the Fruit Control Board may determine. His Excellency's offer has been gratefully accepted. ,
