TEW FAST GAIiLOPS. EIDERS FOR ELLERSLIE. (By Telegraph. —Special to "Star. ) HAMILTON, tliis day. There wa« not a great deal of fast Work at Te Rapa this morning. The weather was fine but the course was Mervette, Paganelli and The Sun finished in that order at the end of six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. Mervette went nicely throughout. The track was no in favour of Paganelli, while The Sun s gallop was good, as he had a big weight U P- . • r Stonehenge and Imammt ran six furlongs in 1.23. Stonehenge, who was on the inside, was elightly in front at the finish, hut the filly was also going well. These horses have been 'improved by recent racing. 11. Gilmer will Tide Arch Eagle and Cruachan in their engagements at Ellerslie on Saturday. W. Rennie will be on Royal Visitor in the Trial Hurdles, but no rider has yet been engaged for Daylight, though he will be a starter in the Trial Hurdles. Star Comet will contest the hurdles on the sccond day at Ellerslie and P. M. Brady wi.'l ride*the chestnut, who is working well. , Pompeius will race in the Liverpool Handicap on the second day, in which 0 Mclnally will ride the Lucullus geldin'c.
