IN PORT AGAIN.

STEAMER TANIWHA RAISED. GOOD PASSAGE FROM FURIRI. VESSEL TO GO ON SLIP. Although she encountered heavy weather last evening, the Northern Steam Ship Company's coastal steamer Taniwlia, which sank in the Wailiou River on Wednesday through striking a snag, and was later refloated, ailived safely at Auckland this morning. The vessel was moored at the Central wharf, but she will go on to the Auckland Harbour Board's slip at St. Mary s Bay on Monday for inspection and repairs. . The Taniwlia sank alongside the Puriri wliarf in the Wailiou River. On Thursday a collision mat was placed over the hole in her bow and she was pumped out by a salvage pump on board the auxiliary schooner Motu, which had been dispatched to her assistance from Auckland. The vessel was raised, and she set out for Auckland at 8.30 o'clock last evening. The pumps were kept _w or king till the Taniwlia arrived at 0.20 o clock this morning, but little water was made on the journey. ~ Little trouble was occasioned as tlie result of the engines being silted up, and generally speaking a good passage was made under difficult conditions. The crew of the Taniwlia were engaged this morning releasing water that had accumulated in various parts of the vessel, and cleaning up between decks.
