THE MENANGLE MILE. WON BY FIRST ACRE. ' SYDNEY, September 25. At the Menangle Park races to-day, the chief event, the Menangle Mile, resulted: — FIRST ACRE, 0.6 (Webster) 1 CATHMAR, 8.12 (Bartle) 2 ARIIvIWAI, 9.5 (McCarten) 3 Fourteen started. Won by half a length, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.40.
STALLION FOR NEW ZEALAND. VAALS PURCHASED. SYDNEY, September 25. Yaals, winner of the Epsom Handicap in 1927, lias been sold for stud duty at tlio Wairea. Estate, Hokianga, New Zealand. He is the first Valais horse to go to the Dominion. At the Randwiclt tracks to-day, First Sight went particularly well, doing seven furlongs in 1.28. Paquito did seven furlongs in 1.30.
