The butter market is quiet. Danish: 149/. Choicest salted: New Zealand, 128/ to 130/;" exceptionally, 132/'; Australian, 126/ to 128/. Unsalteds: New Zealand, 146/ to 150/; Australian, 130/ to 134/. Cheese is slow. New Zealand: White, 75/; coloured, 74/6. Australian: Both 72/. MERCHANTS' CABLES. Messrs. Andrew Clement and Sons, Ltd., are in receipt of the following cable from their London office, dated 18th inst.:— Markets steady. Butter, 127/ to 129/; cheese, 75/. Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., report:— Our London office cables as follows, dated September 18:—Butter: All prices unchanged (Anchor, 132/; other finest, 130/). Market, steady but quiet. Danish, 143/. Cheese: White, 75/ to 76/; coloured, 74/ to 75/. Market quiet.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, dated 18th instant: Butter.—The market is firm owing to break in arrivals. New Zealand finest salted, at 126/ to 130/; Danish hutter, 150/ to 152/; Australian finest salted, 126/ to 128/; finest unealted, 130/ to- 134/; G.A.Q., 120/ to 124/. Cheese.—New Zealand white, at 74/ to 76/; coloured, 74/ to 75/; Canadian white, 74/ to 80/; coloured, 74/ to 80/; c.i.f., 69/ to 71/; Australian white, 73/ to 75/; coloured, 72/ to 74/. FROZEN MEAT. AN IMPROVED DEMAND. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house,» dated 18th instant: — f. There is an improved demand. Mutton Vid higher,pork Vid_ higher; otherwise prices are unchanged.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, September 18. At the Sydney wool sales to-day the offerings totalled 11,660 bales, 9555 being sold. Also 1906 bales lvere disposed of privately. The market was very firm for stylish quality wools, competition for which continued keen from "French, G.erman and Japanese buyers, and to a lesser extent from Yorkshire and American buyers. Greasy Merino sold to 17^4d. AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. f SYDNEY, September 18. The following are to-day's quotations on the Sydney produce market:— , Wheat—Quiet. Bulked, 3/1; bagged, 3/2. ' Flour.- l -£9 5/.

(Received 9 a.m.) CHICAGO, September 17. Wheat for delivery in September is quoted at Chicago at 82% cents per bushel. For December delivery the rate is 8694' cents, for March cents, and for May cents.
