ON ADRIAN'S MARCH.
FIRST RIDE FOR LONG TIME.
Not particularly, prominent at the turn, Adrian's March collared Hard Words fifty yards from home in the Flying Welter first division at Canterbury Park on September 6, the ex-New Zealander G. Young riding his first winner since his return to the saddle after an absence of over twelve months. . . ?
Adrian's March, a recent purchase from the lata John Brown's estate, ran in preference to Valerie, but backers overlooked this lead and the winner was at a long price. His success belied the belief that winners at Canterbury have to be in the first four at the turn.
■ Goshawk would have done better drawn anywhere but on the rails. He lacked the brilliance to hold his place, and, running into trouble three furlongs from home, fell back several lengths. He did well to reach fourth place, poor consolation to those who took a comparatively short price about him. He is better suited at middle distances •
