FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. THIS MORNING DULL. After a good record of business yesterday the local Stock Exchange relapsed into extreme dullness this morning. No sales were completed at the call and bidding was exceedingly poor. Leading oft with Banks buyers were hesitant, and any bids made tended to lower levels. The best offer for Commercials was 17/9, for New South Wales £30 5/, and for. New Zealand £2 15/. Passing down the list there was no improvement, the only strong class being Government stocks,, for which there were the usual inquiries. In local issues Farmers' Trading were offered a little lower at 7/10.
The Noon Call. The morning continued as it began, and only a single sale was recorded at the noon call. Bidding again lacked animation, and the general trend was towards further weakness. Buyers of Commercial Banks dropped to 17/6 for New South Wales to £30, and for E., S. and A. to £5 8/6. Hill and Plummer's shares were asked for at par, and'a parcel, of Government stocks, oVz (1936) was offered at £99 10/.
