DIET AND HEALTH.
I wish to thank all the correspondents -who • supported my letter on the above subject. I was indeed pleased to see so many come forward, - for it indicates that the public are beginning to wake .up and look for means.of preventing disease instead of waiting until it, ' \ comes, and then think that the doctor will bp able to cure it with an expensive bottle or two of medicine. There is an old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. There is nothing that I know of which this saying applies to a s it does to health, " and a well-balanced diet of mostly uncooked food will prevent disease and also: cure;<it. V' "Interested" asked if I cat no cooked food at all. I do eat a little cookect food, but •• more than two-thirds of it is uncooked I t have no objection to a little cooked food if cooked in a waterless cooker or stewed dried fruit if the; juice is drunk, but what I do ' object to is when all the salts, vitamins, etc, are boiled into the water and the " water emptied down the sink. Uncooked food tastes better to me now than does cooked food, and it is less expensive, as there is no cooking to pay for, and now that the,, summer » coming on I advise all. who are interpsted-to study the food * values ; (especially protein)) and give it a fair trial. PERFECT HEALTH.
