NEW TAMAKI BRIDGE.
FLANS COMPUETED.
NO TIME WASTED.
Plans for the reconstruction of the Tamaki River Bridge, on the Great South. Road, have been completed. Specifications in connection with the structure are being prepared, and the whole scheme will be ready for submission to the Main Highways Board for approval Within the next few days. When the engineer of the Manukau County Council, Mr. J, R- Page, reported to this, effect-to to-day's meeting of the council, ' gratification was expressed at the fact that .arrangements for the erection of the bridge were being facilitated. The chairman, Mr. F. M. Waters, isaid ho was glad to see that the plans were completed, as he was receiving inquiries continually from people interested in the proposed new structure, who wanted to see the bridge under way as soon as possible. : No time had been lost eo far as the council was. concerned. Mr. Page said there was a lot of work involved in'the* preparation of the plans and specifications'. Mr. Waters said the council had other work besides the bridge to attend to. It could not confine its attention solely to the requirements pf the Papatoetoe riding. '
