WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

GRIFFITHS—DUNCAN.

The wedding was celebrated on Sep•tember 0, at. the Mount Albert Presbyterian Church, of Miss Margaret Duncan, youngest daughter of Mr. Andrew and the late. Mrs. Duncan, of Paisley, Scotland, to Mr.' Andrew Griffiths, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Griffiths, of Dunkeld, Victoria, Australia. The Rev. -Morrison Sutherland officiated. The bride, who entered the church"on the arm of her father, wore a frock of white satin trimmed with silver and white tulle. Efer veil, which formed a train, was of white embroidered net trimmed with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of White roses, stock and pale pink sweet peas and maidenhair ferit. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Jean Bowman, niece of the bride, who Wore a delphinium blue satin dress trimmed wth pink and blue rosebuds, with tulle cap to match. Her bouquet was of pink roses, stock and blue hyacinths and maidenhair fern. The little flower girl, Jean Cook, also a niece of the bride, Wore a heliotrope tftffeta, trimmed with tulle. Her posy was of primroses. Mr. James Bowman,. Ivingsland,. was best man. The reception was held at the Morningside Hall. Mrs. Bowman, of Ivingsland, sister of • the bridci, received wearing a sea green Silk ,dress trimmed with lace, with hat to tbrie.

HARE—HERBERT. A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Kaeo, on August 20, when Ruby Violet, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Herbert, of Kaeo, was married to Glen Athole Haj'ej second son of Mrs. T. Urquhart of«Mouiit Eden, and the late .Mr. S. Hare. "The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. J. Clarke, and the wedding music supplied by Miss N. Hayes. The. church was" beautifully decorated with ■ daffodils. The bride, who' was given away by her elder brother, Mr. CHerbert, wore a pretty gown of cream crepe de chine and lace, tliei skirt of three flares having an uneven hern. She wore a veil with a 'coronet of orange blossoms and pearls;,,; and carried a sheaf of lilies and .orange blossoms. Miss May Bramley, niece of the bride, was dressed ill a . dainty frock of pink crepe de chine, and silver lace, and carried a bouquet <of daffodils and freesias. The little flower girl; Phoebe Bramley, wore apricot crepe de chine and gold lace, with posy of primroses. ' Mr. Chris. Hare, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The reception was held ih Kaeo Hall, Mrs. Herbert, supported by Mrs. Urquhart, receiving * / the guests. Mrs. Herbert wore a frock of tomatp silk repp, with black hat, and carried a posy of mauve stock and anemones. Mrs, Urquhart's frock was flox-al crepe do chine with silk marocain coat and picture hat, and she carried a .posy of pansies and forget-me-nots.

PATERSON—JOHNSTON. A, pretty wedding was celebrated at Pitt Street Methodist Church: on 1 September 4, when Tina, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Johnston, of Grey Lynn, was married to David " John, youngest son ,of Mr. and Mrs. Paterson, Kingsland. 4 The Rev. Walker officiated. The bride, who entered the church on ■the arm of her father, wore an ivory satin frock,... ankle length, with . tulle frills and hip bow, and her veil of Brussels net was caught to the head with sprays of orange blossom. J3he carried a bouquet of hyacinths, carnations and maidenhair. The bride was attended by her sisters,' Misses: Mamie and JElla, who wore ankle-length frocks ofpale pink and pale blue taffeta, with, hats and shoes to tone. Each carried a shower bouquet. The bride's brother, Mr. George Johnston, was best man, and Mr. Charles Butterworth carried out the duties of groomsman. The wedding breakfast was held at Nairn's Tea Booms, Karangahape Road, where the bride's mother received her guests in navy blue moire .taffeta 'with navy and gold hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock taffc'ta with lmfc to tone.

HELY —CHAILLET. The wedding was solemnised recently, at St. David's Church, of Madeleine, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.- Chaillefc, of Barrack Eoad, Mount Wellington, to' Arnold Stanley, second son of Commander Hely, R.N.R., 0.8. E., R.D., and Mrs. Hejy, of "Woodlands," Glenfield Road, Birkenhead. The Rev. W. T. Piatt officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of cream georgette, with white furtrimmed coat and white felt hat to match. $he carried a sheaf of cream freesias. The bridesmaid, Miss Edna Hely, wore a frock of Nile green crepe de chine with hat to tone,, and carried a bouquet of primroses and cream daffodils. Mr. James Drummond was best man. A reception was held in the Civic Winter Gardens, where Mrs. Chaillet received wearing a frock of rose coloured floral silk, with hat to tone. She carried a posy of rose-shaded primroses. Mrs. Hely wore a mauve marocain frock with coat and hat to match, and carried' a posy of violets.
