LATE NEWS
NEW PLYMOUTH MURDER. No motive for the murder of Mrs. Townsend at New Plymouth has so far been disclosed. She had been terribly eut about the throat, but with what Instrument it is not known. There was no sign of a struggle. It is understood that Mrs, Townsond was not at her usual lodging at the time. Alexander Townsend, husband of deceased, aged 47, a farm labourer, has boen remanded on a charge of murder. BAG*K TO STEAM. Christohurch Suburban Trains.
