"NOT RESIDENTIAL."
JERVOIS ROAD PROPERTY.
tramways barn site.
Jervois Road property owned by the Auckland Transport Board —the site on which the City Council's tram barns formerly stood, was offered at auction, but in no case did a section rea«li the reserve. Reporting to the Transport Board,at this morning's meeting the properties' committee recommended that fresh application he made to the City Council for authority to offer the whole of the sections fronting Jervois Road as 'business sites. The committee in its report included an extract from a letter received from the. auctioneer.' It read as follows:—"I wish again to emphasise the fact that I have repeatedly brought before • your board, that the result of this sale shows the absolute futility of confining the sale of these sections for residential purposes only. The Jervois Road and Wallace Street frontages are essentially business sites. I have had repeated inquiries for the sections at the cornerSof Wallace Street and Jervois Road and Salisbury Street (corner) for business sites, and I feel sure that your board would be well advised to make an appeal to the Town Planning Committee to reconsider their decision and allow us to offer certain of the sections for business purposes."
The committee's report was adopted.
