POLLING DAY TO-MORROW. Mount Wellington Road Board will tomorrow test the feeling of the ratepayers on the proposal to borrow £20,000 to give the district a water supply. If the loan., is carried the board intends to reticulate the whole district. Water will be obtained from the city system, which will be linked up with, at two points- —Ladies Mile and Point England. The people in the Mount Wellington Road Board's area still have to depend on. tanks, and it is felt that the time has arrived when something should be done to bring the district more up to date. The loan proposed will run for 30 years, and will be guaranteed by a special rate of 7-16thsOf a penny in the pond. As no reservoir will be necessary the board Avill only have to reticulate the district, which will require between 12 and, 14 miles of main.
