The departure yesterday of the Parrakoola for Wellington and the Penybryn ! for Westport, followed by the Sildra for [ Wellington to-day, leaves port almost empty of overseas ships. The only two overseas vessels remaining are the Wairuna. discharging general cargo from the Pacific Coast, and the Eangitiki, which is announced to sail for Southampton and London on Tuesday. Due at Auckland to-night, the Fernwood will discharge general cargo and petroleum products from the Gulf of Mexico, while the tanker Yarraville is expected to-morrow with hulk oil from San Francisco. On her return trip to Sydney, the Union Company's passenger steamer Maunganui left Wellington yesterday afternoon. She is due nt Sydney next Tuesday, and leaves there the following Friday for Wellington and Auckland. An expected arrival at Auckland late to-night is the motor ship Fernwood, with general cargo from New Orleans and petroleum products from Gulf of Mexico ports. She will, discharge the local portion of her cargo at the Prince's wharf to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd. The remainder is for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Wanganui, and Australian ports.

The Post and Telegraph Department warns mariners that two telephone cables have been laid in Little Shoal Bay. Commencing at Ponsonby, after reaching position 500 ft south-west of Stokes' Point, cables deviate in a north-westerly direction and pass approximately 100 ft to westward of Northcote Wharf, thence in direction 33S degrees toward inner end of Little Shoal Bay. The Karepo arrived early this afternoon from Westport, via Napier, and berthed at the Prince's wharf. She Is to sail on Monday evening for Portland to complete discharge. The Wingatui has been delayed by ram at Lyttelton, and is now expected to leave there for Wellington and Auckland on Monday afternoon. The Waimarino is to sail at 5 p.m. to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru and Tlmaru.

The Waimea left Napier at 12.30 p.m. yesterday, and is ilue at Auckland to-mor-row, berthing sit the King's wharf. She is to sail again for the East Coast on Tuesday. PORT OP ONEHUNGA. The Ronaki crossed the Manukau bar this morning, bound for Hokianga. She is scheduled to return to Onehunga on Tuesday, and to sail at 3 p.m. the same (lav for Raglan, Kawliia and Port Waikato.
