TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB.

TENTH ANNUAL MEETING. The tenth annual meeting of the Takapuna Boating Club was held last, evening in the clubhouse, Bayswater, Mr. J. .1. Mackav, commodore, presiding. The report stated that tho past year had been full of activities, especially on the social side, while the club's representatives were successful in defending the Cornwell Cup at Dunedin. The slipway had been enlarged and the clubhouse was in good order. Four days of racing were held, the entries showing a falling off in all but the club's 12ft Gin class, for which 11 events were carried out. The picuk-, which was held at Motuihi, was a great success. The prize night was well attended, the patron, Mr. Geo. Winstone. jun., distributing the trophies. Membership showed a small decline, the total now being 172 life and 150 other members. The ladies committee did very good work and were able to make a donation of £1S towards the prize fund, which was very acceptable. The installation of a billiard table proved popular and was also a source of revenue. Reference was made to the death of Mr. C P Lock, a former Hag officer, and to tho fact that several of last year's officers and committee were not seeking re-election. The balance-sheet stowed receipts to mv £451 17/6, incuding slipway £14, dances £114, donation £21, hall rent £33, which, after 'allowing for depreciation on the building, left a debit of £30 for the year's work. The assets totalled £4127 5/10..the clubhouse and fittings representing £3748 of this amount. , , In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr. Mackay stressed' the need for all to pull together.
