ST. PATRICK'S SCHOOL.
SUM OF £1500 RAISED,
The parish campaign, begun last Easter, to reduce the debt on the St. Patrick's School, in Wellingtons Street, was brought to a conclusion with a gala, night in the Manchester Unity Hall last evening. The announcement by Bishop Liston that £1500 had been raised was received with great applause.
The popular girl contest, said his Lordship, had been won by Miss Kathleen Molloy, .the Independent candidate, with Miss Bertha Watson (Children of Mary) second, and Miss Rita Page (Guard of Honour) third. Bishop Liston presented each of the candidates with a souvenir clock, adorned with a miniature in silver of the St. Patrick's School, and congratulated the various committees on the outstanding success which had attended their efforts.
